Neumann M50a pair #204/339 (for sale:used) Holy Grail Omni Tube Mic - Matched Pair!

Nice pair of original M50's. Includes Neumann NKM PSU's, original shock mounts and microphone cables.

Korby serviced and stereo matched with a 1 year warranty on their work.

The M50 is a pressure-type microphone with non-directional characteristics. After its introduction in 1950, the outstanding characteristics of the Neumann M50 made it a standard for the recording of symphony orchestras. A pair of M50's were famously used on one of the very first commercially available stereo recordings: 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' by Richard Strauss, released by RCA in 1954. This performance by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Fritz Reiner is still available today, although instead of open-reel tape, you can now hear the brilliance of the Neumann M50 microphone in SACD format.

RCA 74B Junior Velocity Ribbon (Vintage) $1,100.00

RCA introduced the first of its ribbon velocity microphones in the early 1930’s. They were expensive, high quality units intended primarily for broadcast, film, and recording work. They saw a market for a smaller, less expensive model for less demanding applications, and so the Junior Velocity microphone was developed. It was introduced in 1935 and remained in production through the 1950's.
The RCA 74 ribbon microphone is ideal for harsh high frequency sources.

Altec 639B Mic (used) Classic 'Birdcage' microphone

Serviced, with a six month warranty.

Western Electric introduced the model 639B microphone in 1940. In the late 1930's, WE's audio business was spun off to became Altec. Other than the name, the Altec and WE 639B's are identical.

This is an elaborate, studio-quality unit which included both moving-coil dynamic and ribbon velocity elements. A six-position screwdriver actuated switch allowed the two elements to be used separately or in concert to produce a variety of directional patterns. It is also quite large, as microphones go, measuring about 5.5" high, 3.5" wide, and 4.5" deep. It was used extensively in radio broadcasting and in recording work throughout the 1940's and 50's

AKG C 451 B (used) Small Diaphragm Microphone Revisits a Legend

Very clean example of this popular mic. Comes with original case and swivel mount.

Serviced, with warranty.

AKG's C451 was one of the all-time great studio condenser microphones. Though the original C451 mic ended production many years ago, it's still an extremely popular staple in studios all over the world.

The enduring popularity of the C451 inspired AKG to bring this mic back in the C451B. Sonically identical to the original, which featured the much-acclaimed CK-1 capsule, the new C451B is incredibly precise and accurate. of its most common applications is for drum overheads, and many engineers say there's nothing quite like it for mic'ing cymbals - the metallic "crash" comes through brilliantly.

The capsule is permanently fixed to the preamp to increase overall stability under mechanical stress. It includes a switchable preattenuation pad to increase the mic's SPL capability. A switchable highpass filter at 75 Hz or 150 Hz prevents low-end distortion, while the C451B's all metal body provides excellent protection from RF interference. This microphone makes a great addition to any professional studio or recording set-up
